Taylor
Taylor Swift was a rarity in the world of pop music: she was the sole celebrity who crossed from country into the mainstream and then to be a pop icon worldwide. Swift shed the country influences in the sense that they had been added as an extra layer of skin, revealing she was among the finest singers/songwriters from her generation. Swift could make the occasion personal, or use the moment to benefit. Her talents could be seen in the first songs she released, most notably the Neodue Tim McGraw. But on her sophomore album Fearless that came out in 2008, she was able to discover her true identity and gain an audience that was large. The album was a huge success, not just in the United States, having six platinum-certified songs. In fact, the Top Ten songs Love Story & the hit song You Belong with Me were the primary reasons behind this. It also performed very well across the globe. Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago was a continuation of her earlier successes, propelling the singer into superstardom. In the following three years, her fame grew -- Red (2012), Reputation (2014) as well as 1989 (2014-2015) in 2014-2015 as Swift entered the arena of pop in which her talent was already well established. While she reduced her work with folklore and Evermore releases in 2020 she was still at the forefront of pop music.
